NSC Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens
Although OSHA mandates the Bloodborne Pathogens Certification for any workplace where people can get in contact with blood or bodily fluids, the National Safety Council included the additional Airborne Pathogens training in this course, so that each participants learn the signs and symptoms of Tuberculosis and Influenza, and how to protect themselves from getting infected.
According to 29 CFR 1910.1030, all employers are required to safeguard their employees who might be exposed to blood or any potentially infectious materials.
This course meets the OSHA requirements, and is designed for first responders, dentists, dental hygienists, lab workers, police, paramedics, EMT personnel, animal handlers, custodians, and anyone who could come in contact with blood or bodily fluids.
You will learn how to protect yourself from bloodborne and airborne pathogens, and what to do if exposure has occured, the entire text of the OSHA standards, what is Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and TB, influenza pandemic, the Needle Stick Safety and Prevention Act, recordkeeping and exposure control plans.

The training takes about 1.5 – 2 hours, and can be taken as a separate course, or added to any other certification.
